This property is situated at the highest point between Palas de Rei and Melide, many pilgrims walk this route. Next to it is a boutique hotel which was sold years ago by Galician Country Homes which works very well.
Apart from the owners of the boutique hotel no one else lives in the village.
The views from the house and the hotel are splendid. Among the best we have seen in Galica.
This house is in need of extensive restoration although all the stonework is in good and structurally sound condition.
The property consists of a house which is large: 200m2 per floor X 2 floors 400m2.
It also has an outbuilding of 95m2 on one floor and another barn open to the L shaped house which has an area of 150m2 this barn has a large gate which opens directly onto the road.
The property has a plot of 6230m2 within which there is an eira (threshing area) within the land there is a plot of 174m2 which could be used to construct a building for auxiliary equipment.
More than half of the plot is occupied by oak trees which make an excellent windbreak as they are north facing and the house and land are south facing.
The property has a recently installed electricity connection and spring water.
The Jacobean Route follows the land around the plot until it becomes a simple footpath.
The altitude of the property is 650m above sea level. Palas de Rei is 550 metres above sea level. So pilgrims have a hard walk to get to Casa Camino and it would be a logical stop for them.
The owner has put a fence around the entire land so you can keep animals in total security.
