Galicia is Spain in a different way
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has listed Galicia as one of the twelve most stunning and breathtaking destinations for 2019. And the closest of all to the UK.
Among the many insights of Mr. Sean Tripton, ABTA's spokesperson, there are some that fit perfectly with the spirit of this blog.
Galicia is not Scotland, but another Celtic land, in the north of Spain, where you can find the best seafood in the country...
We chose the places for different reasons, but the main reason for choosing Galicia is that it is a beautiful place, with great cities, amazing scenery and good food. Galicia is not well known in the UK. About 40 million tourists from the UK travel to Spain, but they go to the Costa del Sol, Mallorca or Barcelona... Galicia is a different Spain... Our intention is to inspire them to be more adventurous and go to other parts of the Peninsula, and Galicia has great cities, great food and it also has an intriguing atmosphere, very British in a way, with the bagpipes and the weather, but it's not British..."
We can only add that more than 300,000 Britons are already resident in Spain. And more and more of them in Galicia.
